Video Tutorial: How To Attach Feather Extensions

Several of you, specifically Wormalita, had asked me to do a video tutorial on attaching feather extensions. I put this together so you can watch it while you attach your own extensions, pausing between steps so you can read about what will happen next.

I mention that you'll need a loop of some sort. This is so you can load the bead on to the hair and feather, quickly and easily. You can make this by taking a 5 inch section of mono-filament, string or dental floss, folding it in half and knotting the loose ends together. You can also buy a whole bunch of these loops, pre-loaded with similar beads, from your local hair weave or beauty supply store.

(Here'a a link if the video isn't visible.)

Here's a link to Untethered Designs, the etsy shop where I buy my feathers. They ship quickly and have a beautiful assortment of feathers.

Remember, if you aren't happy with the placement, just use pliers to crimp the bead in the opposite direction and try again. But be sure to use a new microbead or it won't hold for long and you're likely to lose your feather.

Have fun and let me know how it goes!
