Tarte Royal Collection

The amount of amazing palettes this year is starting to make me dizzy. If the Jewelry Box is too big, too pricey, or overwhelming to you (or you're looking for something to give as a gift), check out the Royal Collection ($43). It's sold almost everywhere that sells Tarte (with the exception of Sephora.)

The Royal Collection comes with 16 soft, creamy, beautiful Tarte shadows, plus a second tier of primer, lashes and lip product favorites.

The shadow colors range from matte to glam and everything in between. I love the feel of their shadows; how they glide when you put them on and how well the color can be built up. These colors start out on the sheer side, but can be layered to achieve a multitude of looks.

Here is a look at all 16 colors. I had a hard time photographing some of them to pick up on the subtle color highlights in the pressed powder. My favorites are the dark brown in the third row,

the dark teal in the bottom row

and the purple in the upper right corner.

Here is the look I did for today. It's simple and quiet, with a hint of a dramatic crease. I used the Gold shimmer in the bottom row on the lid.

I used the matte Dark Grey in the third row in the crease and popped a hint of Dark Teal Shimmer (bottom row, left) in the corner.

I also foiled it as a liner on the upper and lower lash line. I finished by dusting a bit of the matte highlight pinkish-white (upper left corner) below my arch.

You need to know that there is a second tier tray in this kit that has a fabulous multi-purpose!

With the product insert in place, it has a place to hold Clean Slate Primer, MultiplEYE Lash Primer, Lights, Camera Lashes Mascara and a lovely coral/pink Gloss.

Take the insert out, and you get a great little drawer to carry other must-haves or brushes with you. It makes this perfect for travel. Most of the palettes on the shelves this season don't have that flexible option.

This collection is a great option as a special holiday treat for yourself or to give as a gift. Plus, like all Tarte, it's paraben-free, petroleum-free, phthalate-free and not tested on animals. If you like Tarte, don't miss this limited edition collection!

This was sent to me for the purposes of review. Tarte doesn't test on animals.
