Winter Skin Saviors, Part II: Mario Badescu

Am I the only one who when they hear the phrase, Part II, thinks of the end of the movie Breakin', when Ice-T raps (4:13)?

Cause their people just like you, trying to make their dreams come true... This one's through, but wait for part two!

Bam! Electric Boogaloo! (I'm still waiting for that dance sensation of tomorrow and the Lambada to take over, by the way.) Every time there is a sequel to a movie, or a part two to anything, that is what I see and hear in my mind. I'm lucky like that, I suppose.

    But I digress.

There is another huge snowstorm pummeling the east coast, which means more shoveling and even more dry skin. I recently got a chance to try some new products from Mario Badescu that are working wonders on my punim. I'm completely new to the line, so this is my first foray into the world of botanically based, beautifully priced, simply packaged skin care from Mario Badescu.

I don't change up my cleanser and moisturizer that often, but these orange, almond and honey infused products caught my attention. And after using them for the first time, I haven't gone back yet.

Don't let the name fool you. Mario Badescu's Orange Cleansing Soap is detergent free, non-oily and nicely hydrating. It's gentle enough to remove makeup, but is still slightly exfoliating (because of ingredients, not because of grains). My thirsty skin loves this cleanser!

Almond and Honey Non-Abrasive Face Scrub is more of a masque than a scrub. It contains giant bits that could exfoliate, but as a scrub, it's not for me. However, as a masque, it's amazing. Immediately after slathering it on my face, my dry skin felt hydrated, almost as if it was taking a long drink of water. Afterwards, your face is polished, radiant and so, so soft. It's a fantastically priced as well at $15!

I finished up by using Mario Badescu's Honey Moisturizer, a botanical moisturizer with AHA, peanut oil and honey and orange extracts. It's the perfect grease-less finish to a perfectly cleansed face. This product doesn't feel or smell like some other AHA products; there is no sharp aroma or tingle-y feeling. It's such a pleasure to use (and it's a score for $25).

Mario Badescu has teamed up with Three Custom Color for a fun twitter event today - follow the #Sweetup on twitter for chances to win products from both!
