Scratch Soccer Game Part 3

Welcome to the third and final part of our Scratch Soccer Game. Click the top right hand corner green flag to start. (Make sure computer sound is on, so you can hear the sound effects).

Then use the keyboard arrow keys on your computer to move side to side and kick the ball. If you miss a ball and it goes through to the yellow line, then you lose a life. When you have lost all your player's lives, the game ends.

Use the top right hand corner red stop sign to stop the animation.
Then Click the Green Flag in the top right corner to Play Again.

This post contains the third of a series of tutorials that will result in our final full soccer game.

You will have needed to have completed Parts 1 and 2 before being able to do this Part 3 tutorial.

Links to these previous tutorials are as follows:

The following YouTube tutorial shows the steps required to build Part 3 of the Soccer Game that is present at the start of this post.

Note that by adjusting the bottom right hand controls, it can be viewed full screen in HD. (Press Escape to return to this blog page when finished).

Here is the final Script for the "Kicker" that allows movement using the arrow keys, and keeps track of how many lives he has left.

The following is the final script for the Soccer Ball, which takes care of scoring, as well as broadcasting some important messages to all of the other sprites.

Here is the final Goal Net script, which is very simple and just broadcasts a message to the Ball Sprite, every time the ball reaches the goal net.

Here is the script for the brand new sprite we added in Part 3 which supplies the "Game Over" sign when all lives are gone.
