Nude Attitude from Three Custom Color Specialists

Yearning to wear a nude lip but not look so, well nude? Three Custom Color Specialists have come up with a new twist on the nude lip. Loads of nude lip colors leave your lips beige. This works on some people, with smoky eyes, but it isn't the easiest look to pull off on a day to day basis.

Celebrity Makeup Artist, Lauren Napier teamed up with Three Custom Color Specialists' artist, Chad Hayduk to create a truly wearable nude lip. Part coral, beige and pink, this nude has quite a bit more color than you may be used to.

It looks different on everyone and, when paired with a liner, you can dress this color up or down. On me, it is a perfectly peachy nude and has quite a bit more color than shown on the models above. I especially love to wear it with an almost white lip gloss underneath. It gives it a lighter, natural ethereal feel.

I tried this color on a few people and got different results each time. Here are a few variations on my own lips.

(Applied over a shiny, white lip gloss.)

    (By itself.)

(Applied over the Three Custom Color Coral Lip Liner.)

The possible combos are endless so you never know what you'll get, other than naturally pretty. It's creamy, long wearing and lends a not-quite-matte and not-quite-satin finish to the lips.

Nude Attitude is available for $21.50 online.

Wearable Trend: Orange Eye Shadow

Orange is everywhere, but it isn't the easiest color to pull off. But with a little help, it's not as intimidating as you might think. Amped, an orange shadow from Three Custom Color Specialists, looks really bright in the compact but is actually very wearable.

Chad Hayduk from Three Custom Color Specialists has some tips on how to rock the orange without feeling like a traffic cone.

"Color science tells us that shades on opposite sides of the color wheel visually vibrate against one another and we should keep that in mind when choosing eye shadows. Choose colors that contrast with your eye color if you're looking to really pop!”

Keeping that in mind, this color may not work best for my brown-eyed girls. But for the rest of us it's a great color to play with this spring and summer!

Personally, I love to pair it with a deep purple liner or a bright amethyst eye shadow. Go easy with the lip color, choosing something glossy and lightly pigmented coral or peachy tone. A color that is too strong will compete and complicate the look.

Unless you want to go full stop 1983. If that is the case, then go for a strong eye, lip and cheek! Are you bold enough to go for orange? How will you wear it?

Inspired by Cupcakes: Three Custom Color's The Sweetest Thing Collection

Inspired by the Cupcake Couture of Miles Ehan, Three Custom Color has released a perfectly pink palette that's all sugar and no spice for their Spring 2011 Collection.

This adorable little palette, The Sweetest Thing, includes a very light pink shadow, Icing On The Cupcake, which is perfect to wake up your eyes, giving you the innocent look of an ingenue. It contains little reflective bits of colors across the spectrum to add a little dimension. You can use it in the corners of your eyes, all over, as a highlighter on your cheeks or apply it damp to really bring out the sparkle!

(The lightest color on the lid is the Three Custom Color Shadow, shown dry.)

The middle color is a soft pink gloss in Candy Cloud 9.

It's a very light and shiny color; picture a child's sweet smile after eating a candy cane or bubblegum flavored lollipop.

Lastly, this palette contains a very pink, sacchariferous cream blush/lip tint in Lollipop. It's the same shade left on your fingers after that final bite of decadently decorated cupcake. Together, it's a very innocent look, perfect for spring. It's really, really pink for me, but what about you?

(Swatches of all three colors; the blush is on top, the gloss in the middle and the shadow is on the bottom.)

Here is a slightly brighter look using the same palette.

I used the shadow wet and as a cheekbone highlighter. I used the shadow wet. I also used Lollipop on the lips, followed by a bit of Candy Cloud 9 for a glossy Katy Perry look. So pretty!

Be sure to follow Three Custom Color (@Threecustom) on Twitter today (January 27th) for special deals and giveaways, celebrating the launch of this palette! Look for the #sweetup on Twitter and don't miss this sweet opportunity.

Three Custom Color Caramel Rose Lip and Cheek Stain

In case you missed it, cheeks were all of the rage at Fashion Week. Natural cheeks, defined cheeks, cheeks with lots of color; cheeks were the focal point. To celebrate that look off of the catwalk, Chad Hayduk, Co-Founder of Three Custom Color Specialists, went from the runway into the lab to create the perfect natural flush multitasking color.

His creation is Caramel Rose, a sienna colored cream cheek and lip color that can be used in a multitude of ways. First, Caramel Rose makes for a natural, pretty, lip color, ala the models in outdoor fashion shoots that take place on farms. You know the ones I mean. The women look just slightly flushed, as if they are dripping with the anticipation of whatever hot/haute/farm/fashion thing is going to happen next.

If I had a lot of time, a farm and it wasn't raining, I would try to recreate that look for you. I'll spare you and just give you this.

You can also use this color in a way I wouldn't think of. I consider myself to be a decent makeup artist (on myself, mind you) and I also consider myself to be creative. However, for whatever odd reason, it hasn't dawned on me to use a reddish cream blush as a contour color. (My go to contour color is a matte bronzer that lives on Park Ave.) However, this notion has me intrigued. It definitely is an easy way to embrace the look that was all over the runway and its soft color defines the cheeks and looks beautiful. The color itself applies very sheer and is creamy, which allows for the perfect amount of layering and blending.

Caramel Rose Lip and Cheek Stain is available from Three Custom Color Specialists for $22.50. Are you going to embrace the strong cheek trend or let this one pass? Tell me in the comments!

Three Custom Color Party All The Time at Urban Outfitters

Three Custom Color Specialists is partnering with Urban Outfitters to showcase one of their gorgeous new colors! Party All The Time is a beautiful wet / dry shadow in a dark, mysterious copper. This brown reminds me of the perfect shade for Julianne Moore, so fellow redheads take note! This shade can be applied with a light touch for a sheer wash of color or heavier for a deep, smoldering look, ala Taylor Swift in her I forgive you, Kanye performance.

This shadow is also great as a liner - I like to wet a thin, angled brush with Hydrating Natural Tears for a slightly shiny, copper line. It's fantastic for blue eyes, or eyes that are flecked with gold.

(Both are applied over a lid primer. Top is a heavy application, middle is a light application and the line is mixed with Hydrating Natural Tears.)

While browns have not been a color I have been seeking out as of late, this one is definitely lustworthy! Check it out online at Urban Outfitters.

3 Custom Color Creates Charmed for Talbots - September 9th–18th

Fall always seems like a great time to reinvent yourself, or at least to try something new. Maybe it's the habit buying new back to school clothes from years gone by (or promise of exciting things they use to bring), or maybe it's the buckling down after a lax summer, but it always seems like the time when good changes happen. Talbots is clearly thinking the same thing with the reinvention of their marketing. Talbots has always meant classic, tailored fashion, but I always thought they were talking to my mother-in-law, not to me. But now, with Linda Evangelista heading up their print campaign and the perfect red lipstick from Three Custom Color Specialists, it's time to check them out again.

Right now, through September 18, if you make a purchase of $150, you'll also get a special lipstick in a universally (I mean it!) flattering red, aptly named Charmed.

This lipstick is very hydrating, delightfully smooth and long-wearing. This red doesn't feel like it is going to slide around or make a mess. It feels great, wears beautifully and perks up your skin.

I know the reds seem like a tough color you may not be able to pull off. With a color like this, in a formula like this, reinventing yourself (or just stretching your wings) doesn't seem so difficult.

This is hands down, currently my favorite red. Love Love Love it! Wanna go shopping? Use this coupon to save 20% at Talbots!

    Three Custom Color
recently launched a new lipstick formula that packs a crazy amount of color, Vitamin E, Grape Seed Oil, Jojoba Oil, Avocado Oil and Shea Butter into one formula that leaves your pucker perfect.

(The colors swatched: Top: St. Tropez, Santorini, Copacabana, Bora Bora, Majorca)

These colors aren't for the meek. If you want to throw caution to the wind and wear a color you didn't think you could pull off, these are the colors for you. Even if you just need to get away from your usual lip gloss routine, these are the colors you need!

Bora Bora is a cool fuchsia

    Santorini is a rich raspberry

    Copacabana is a bold gold-coral

Majorca is a warm bronze shimmer

St. Tropez is a peachy beige with a champagne shimmer

These colors are vivid and fresh as the places that inspired them. Pre-order them now (before they're gone!) and they'll ship in July. Just in time for the perfect vacation...even if you are just staying at home.

Noir Lipstick: More Glam Than Goth

Three Custom Color Specialists recently launched a new lip stick and gloss, Noir. The lip stick makes the black lipstick trend of last Fall wearable by anyone this Spring. It looks great on the model in the photo. But what about on us pale, Irish girls?

Below are photos of me wearing this in different lighting situations. I believe the pigments work slightly differently on everyone who wears it, so it won't look the same on any two people.

I also really like wearing it over a light pink to give it a slightly different look (I used Lipstick Queen's Float). I have blue eyes and this is one of those colors that helps make your eyes sparkle (at least on me it has that effect).

The lip stick itself is very sheer and hydrating. Because it is so sheer, it wears slightly better than a lip gloss, but not as well as a full color lip stick. This is also layerable, so one swipe gives you a nice touch of color, but a few more and you are ready for a more dramatic look,

(Me inside, wearing Noir. One coat of color.)

(Me outside, wearing Noir. Why does my mouth look like a smaller version of Billie Piper here?)

(Me, inside, wearing LQ's Float and 2 coats of Noir.)

What do you think? Tell me in the comments!

I bought this product with birthday money.

Finding the Perfect Peach: Peach Blush Super Swatch-tacular

For months, I have been all over any blush that wasn't pink, purple or brown. I have a lot of pink in my skin, and while I am drawn to pink blush, it has been hinted at - by much more makeup-savvy people than I - that pink blush on my easily flushed skin is similar to a disaster.

So my quest began. Then one evening, while strolling in Walgreens (yes, I stroll in Walgreens) Loxy said, "I know it has a NEW! sticker on it, but I think you have that color." Granted, I have a lot of makeup. Believe it or not, I think I had more a few years ago, way before I started writing about it. But if Loxy was telling me I already had a particular color and he understood that this color was a light peach, with a slight shimmer with cool undertones and no glitter in a cream base, it was starting to sink in that maybe I had gone to far.

So here, for your perusal, are swatches of most of my peach blushes, in the hopes that you can find what may be your perfect peach blush. And maybe it will inspire you to try something new OR remind you to walk away from the makeup counter if you truly already have that color.

I believe I have the peach cheek market covered. There is one more color I am dying to try, but it isn't available at my Sephora yet. I will be sure to let you know when I pick it up. In the meantime, I promise to walk away from the peach blush. Unless I don't have anything like it.

Do you have these? Am I missing something amazing? What is your favorite? (Based on the swatches, mine might be both TEMPTU colors.)

Out of all of those swatches, the only one that was given to me for the purposes of review was Tarte Eco-Cheek.
