I’ve always found Halloween to be a magical holiday where you can dress up and let your imagination run wild as you walk a day in another person’s shoes (even if that “person” is a zombie). When I was a kid, that meant grabbing a mish-mash of items we already owned and transforming them into a costume before venturing out to scour the neighborhood in search of the elusive “full size chocolate bar.” These days, though, it seems we’ve all but lost our sense of imagination, opting to purchase pre-made costumes as a quick, easy fix before attending a Halloween party.
This year, rather than spend big money on a cheaply-made costume you’re likely to wear once, why not create your own “costume” out of every-day items you can re-wear? Check out these three costume ideas for inspiration. Whether they move you to “shop your closet” for similar items you already have, or you decide to purchase a new item or two, let your imagination run wild this Halloween!
