I have been lucky enough to get a backstage glance (from the confines of my snowy office) at a few of the big shows from New York Fashion Week. Usually, many of the trends are lovely, exotic and really show-y, but not really wearable for an average girl like me. And I am not even talking about the clothes. Normally, the makeup is over the top, the hair is impossible and while it is glamorous and gorgeous, I can't do a thing with it without a serious runway to realway modification. That changed today.
At the Rebecca Minkoff show, Sarah Lucero (for Stila) created a chic and pretty face, while still being very feminine and sexy. This simple cat eye with a natural cheek and easy lip are really wearable outside of the tents. Sarah used the following Stila products to get the look:
Stila has created collections of their products that are amazing values (all of the above for $32!). Check out the Rebecca Minkoff look here, the Betsey Johnson look here and the BCBG Max Azria look here.
At the Yigal Azrouel show, the hair was a simple pony tail loop bun, that looked effortless, shiny and natural. So natural in fact, I am sure I could give my co-worker this style in a few minutes (unlike the fish braid I tried yesterday) if I had the right products. Teddy Charles for TIGI used

Finally, at the LaCoste show, Luke Hersheson for TIGI gave the models a new twist on the 80's side pontytail. Updated and fresh and totally not channeling Tina Majorino in Napoleon Dynamite, this pony rocked. To get the look, Luke used these TIGI products:
