It is no secret that my lashes are more lackluster than blockbuster. Regular readers know I kvetch about them all of the time. For the last few years, I have been looking for lash growth enhancers that really work without the possibly dangerous side effects. I have tried a few of them and some have worked better than others.
After a few weeks of trying something new, my co-workers, clients and friends' husbands began to comment on my longer lashes! It's always a little awkward, because it's hard to compliment something like my lashes now looking luxe. The comments always start with something like this: "Wow. Your lashes look great. They really show up now, I can see them! What are you using?" or "Hey! Your lashes look great. They can't be yours, can they? You never have nice, long lashes."
Ouch. But they aren't wrong. My lashes stink from a heredity standpoint. Here is what they looked like prior to using a new lash saving serum.
Here is how it works. You apply it at the root of the lashes and before mascara (or after taking mascara off) two times each day, for the first month. After the first month, then just use it once a day to maintain your new lashes. It comes with a unique applicator that is a doe foot sponge and a mascara wand, making it easy to apply in a matter of seconds.
Here is what it did in clinical trials in Paris:
Again, here were my lashes when I started:
So what did my lashes look like when I was finished?
Not too shabby, huh!

Also new is Lash Extender from Talika. It's literally fiber lashes in a tube. Put a coat of wet mascara on lashes, touch the tips of your lashes to the fiber brush and add another coat of mascara. It's not the neatest application and not for the faint-hearted. But if you need lots of lashes fast, you might want to try this!

(They are so short, they are hard to photograph! They literally are too short to curl. They just stick out.)
When Talika contacted me and asked me to try their new Lipocils Expert in advance of the product launch, I was excited to see if it really worked. The ingredients include UV Photo-filters and Coleus Forskholli, which have been shown in clinical trials to help grow, darken and curl lashes. Plus it includes the 12 plant extracts that made the original Lipocils so popular. Here is how it works. Here is what it did in clinical trials in Paris:

(If I didn't know any better, I would think this is photo shopped. But trust me, my photo shop skills are limited to "crop".)
